The Holy Grail of Trans Am shows...The 2015 Trans Am Nationals August 28th-30th

Held every year in Dayton Ohio - less than 7 hour drive.

Lost count of the number of time I have passed through Dayton on my way to St.Louis and just missed that show.

Is any one else going to the TransAm Nationals?

I am leaving Friday morning August 28 from Winston Churchill & Dundas at 7:15AM and meeting up with a group in Kitchener (Tim Hortons @ 401/Homer Watson Blvd.) for 8:00 to 8:30 leaving from there for Dayton Ohio.

Time for an update on my trip to the 2015 TransAm Nationals in Dayton Ohio.
This is a great weekend for any TransAm enthusiast.  The show was held at the Fairmont Holiday Inn. This was the second year at this location. I did not go last year but there were a few TOTAS folks who did. The new location was in some ways better and in some ways not as good as the previous location.  The biggest difficulty with the new location is that the show areas were split up across the hotel parking lot and nearby office lots. There was no real problem just that the lots are in a number of different areas. There is also a concern for those displaying cars the main hotel lot is on a hill. This leads to a worry about cars running away as people set them up for show day on Sunday. The positive notes for the new location were that there were many more restaurants and food outlets close to the hotel.
I understand it the moving the was required because show organizers would not have been allowed access to the University parking lot next to the Marriott hotel. I think the new location works well and the host club does a fantastic job of putting on this show.
One of the highlights of the show is the Saturday night cruise from the show location to the nearby town of Tipp City. All of the show participants are invited to take over the town. It is really something to see all of the TransAms and Firebirds take over the main street of Tipp City.
As to the cars that are at the show, it was announced that there were over 350 cars registered for the Sunday show.
I traveled to the show with folks from Toronto and a few from Kitchener area great to travel in a group of TransAms!
We did have one bit of trouble for the one of the cars. Kevs87Ta had the injectors kick up a fuss on the drive to Dayton. Kev tried to get a proper set of injectors and even drove an hour on Sunday morning to pick up a set. When we tried to install them after the show Sunday evening there were other issues.  Paul then offered to drive his TA home and put the ailing car on the trailer for the trip home. The troubles were made much more tolerable for Kev as he had been awarded a second place trophy in the afternoon.
Without further delay below are a sample of the photos I took and this is the link to the gallery with a bunch more-> http://totas.ca/forum/index.php?action=gallery;cat=9
