Nascar Racing 2003
« on: February 25, 2019, 01:34:55 PM »
After watching the Daytona 500, I was curious as to what is the premier Nascar Racing PC sim lately.

It had been many years since I last took the "desktop wheel", so I figured there must be some major improvements. I was amazed to see that Nascar Racing 2003 by Papyrus/Sierra is still considered the best Nascar sim, by a longshot.

There is a large, very active online community, with up-to-date Series, tracks, cars etc. It only took a few minutes to download and add the 2019 Monster Energy Nascar Series complete with drivers, tracks, cars and updated physics. And with 16 years of hardware improvements, you can run every graphical option at Max and still enjoy a 140+ fps game.

The best part is...Nascar Racing 2003 has been long abandoned by Papyrus/Sierra (Nascar rights went to EA Sports), and is now FREE !!! You can easily find it online. Ignore the EBay $200+ scammers...see links below.

Amazingly, the Nascar Racing 2003's original author, Brian Ring, has resurfaced after 14 years of silence this week and is working on the project again.

Man, I remember playing that sim back in the day. I've not been into gaming in years. As good as that game is, I too am surprised no one topped it over the years.

It is still a "white knuckle" ride when in a pack.
Everyone now has a much better connection also...so there is no more cars jumping around or disappearing and reappearing.
