Steering Box Rebuild

Tracked a PS leaked to the steering box recently.
After 35 years it is due for an overhaul, but the condition of the front lower bolt was a big surprise.

Wow!
I am sure that you will be replacing those fasteners.
Were there any wear issues with the steering box?
Did all the seals go in alright?

No wear issues, but could not get end cap out to replace O ring.
May have to hook it up and hope the pressure forces it out.
Seals were all brittle and a bit of sludge in the box.

Figured it all out...just pull Pitman shaft and turn input shaft CCW. Piston then pushes out cap.
All back in now.
